I have had polio for as long as I can remember. The virus not only affected both my legs, but also damaged my spinal cord.

Life with disability has been a huge challenge for me. I cannot even imagine what it is like to walk around.

I cannot move around without help from others. Although I have a special bike which I drive around on, but I need help to be able to get on and off it.

If I was not disabled, the sky would have been my limit. My education, work as well as my social life have been gravely affected since I need to be carried wherever I go. My spirits are solid. I want to live my life to the fullest. I was able to do my masters in Economics and I am running a website which is doing pretty well.

Firm commitment from the health authorities and parents, polio drops, awareness and security for vaccinators are the surefire recipe to rid ourselves of this menace.

I give interviews to newspapers and television channels to raise awareness about polio. Apart from that, I use my disability to show people that this is what can happen if you get polio.

I dream of a day when Pakistan has joined the polio free-nations.
