All vaccinators should be proud of their noble job at the frontline of the massive campaign against polio

I have been gathering the required knowledge from my experienced colleagues and seniors ever since I joined the polio campaign. I believe in the value of experience and knowledge sharing to makemy work most effective.

When I started as a polio vaccinator, initially people in the community were not very cooperative. Some of them would not open doors or would say our children are not at home.

Our continuous visits and counselling with the mothers, most of them have realized that the reason we come to their doorsteps is for the good of their children.

Now they are increasingly welcoming and aware that we are there to protect their children. I help parents understand the importance of vaccination for their children’s health. I tell them a service that is usually delivered at the health facilities is being brought to your doorstep, this is a blessing and you need to make best use of it.
