Islamabad, March 8, 2016: In a statement issued by the Prime Minister’s Focal Person on Polio paid tribute to female health workers of the country who are playing a pivotal role in Polio Eradication and Immunization Programme. “The bravery of Pakistani female health workers is an example of women’s determination to make this world a better place to live” said Senator Ayesha Raza Farooq on the international women’s day.

Pakistan Polio Program has witnessed many ups and down and frontline health workers including females have sacrificed their lives in line of duty. “It is the resilience of Pakistani health workers especially resolve of female force whose strength defeated the conspiracies of non state actors”, PM Focal Person said in her message.

Prime Minister’s Focal Person in her message urged the female health workers, mothers and civil society to play their decisive role in our fight against polio. Senator Farooq stressed that the fight against polio is at defining moments and active participation of society and communities can help in catching the low hanging fruit of Polio Free land. Communities should ensure that no child is missed in each polio campaign to arrest the circulation and finally eradicate the poliovirus from the country, expressed Prime Minister’s Focal Person on Polio in her statement.
