I am particularly keen on interaction with parents who say ”my children have already been vaccinated” when I knock at their door. When I explain to them why vaccinating each and every child under the age of five in each campaign is so critical and that each extra drop of the vaccine adds another layer of protection to their children, they become appreciative of the knowledge as no mother or father wants to see their children stuck in a lifetime paralysis.
With the grace of Allah, now all families in my community trust me and realize the importance of vaccination. Their cooperation is heart-warming and the result of this effort is just wonderful: no missed children in the area I am assigned to.
For our pride and the benefit of our future generations and the entire world, let us confront the specter of polio in Pakistan, let us consign the vicious disease to history books.
